2017 Reading Challenges Wrap Up!

Hey everyone!!  This is my reading challenges wrap up and I have to sadly say that I didn't complete all the reading challenges for this year. I've only managed to complete a few of the challenges for the year, even though that is still an accomplishment since I rarely complete reading challenges. Here's to hoping that 2018 is the year I can complete more reading challenges!

Netgalley & Edelweiss Reading Challenge 2017

Hosted by: Bookish Things & More

Challenge Guidelines

  • The challenge will run from Jan 1, 2017 – Dec 31, 2017.
  • Anyone is welcome to join. You do not need to be a blogger, just post your reviews and come back every month to link them up.
  • Any genre, release date, request date, length, etc. counts so long as it came from Edelweiss or Netgalley.
  • At the beginning of each month there will be a roundup post for you to add your reviews.
  • If you forget to link up one month it’s not a problem just add your reviews next month.
  • If you would like to move up or down levels that is completely fine and at your discretion.
  • If you have any questions tweet me @BookishThings or e-mail katrina@bookisthingsandmore.com!

2017 10th Annual Graphic Novel & Manga Reading Challenge

  • Please write a sign-up post on your blog and then sign-up below with a link to your specific sign-up post (NOT to your home page).
  • What counts:  graphic novels, collected trade editions, manga, comic strip collections, comic books or combinations of text and bubbles all in the same book. In print or digital. Anything else you feel is suitable.  My personal criteria is if it has either frames OR speech bubbles it counts.  I'm not going to be the comic police but if you are unsure, ask me in the comments any given month.
  • You must write a review and link to it for it to count towards the challenge. Reviews may  be posted on your blog or goodreads or similar places. Several reviews may be gathered and posted in one link on your blog, but each book must be linked back here in the monthly linkies to count. Come back every month to record your progress.

Books must be released prior to 2017
(this challenge isn’t for new releases)
That’s it!
Set your reading goal

Post updates throughout the year with #beatthebacklist

How to Earn Points

Post Challenge TBR/goals  (on blog, Goodreads, social media, etc) = 20 points
(note: simply adding your blog URL to the link-up does not count for this – see example here)
Read 10 pages = 1 point
Write review = 50 points
Cross-post review to a retail website (Amazon, B&N, etc) = 15 points
There will be other opportunities to earn points during Twitter chats, random hashtag days, and other small events to be announced throughout the year.
When you sign up for the Hogwarts mini challenge, you’ll receive a randomized challenge ID name that you can use to submit books and reviews for points once the challenge starts.

I update that list every few days so if you don’t see your name right away DON’T PANIC. I will add it.
Starting in 2017 there will be a form that you can save/bookmark to add your reading progress. Please note that you’ll need some type of confirmation so whether it’s a blog post talking about what you read each week/month or a link to your Goodreads “review” of the book, etc.
Points will reset every month to give all houses a chance to win the cup for the next month. I WILL be keeping a total count of points, however, as well as how many points each person has earned for the end of the year celebration!
